I have a customer who wants a field that will auto generate a sample number. The format of it is pretty straight forward. Basically it starts with the year a dash followed by a number starting at 101 then going consecutive. IE 11-101 for a first record. The catch is they want the 101 to reset every year. I thought I had it figured out with the listed code but when I changed the year of my computer it didn't reset the record count. however it did change the year. IE it did this 12-104 but should have been 12-101. Maybe I have been looking at this too long an cant see my own mistake or even a simpler way.
