SQL Seminar Part 1

Maybe you could put a comment in the seminar that you always have to use the english version of dates, no matter in what country you are. I just got a Syntax-error when trying to use the German version of the Date like it was shown in the table.

Kind regards

Marina

I added a note. This seminar was recorded many moons before I decided to switch everything to ISO.

I always had to use the Format function before switching to ISO.

Only problem is if you don't use the Format function and are building a database for someone who isn't using the ISO format and their regional format is DD/MM/YYYY the dates won't work correctly.

Really wish Microsoft would take Regional Settings in to consideration.

We just need to get everyone to join my cause... convert the world to ISO dates... and get rid of Daylight Saving Time... if I could accomplish those two things by the time I die, I'll be relatively satisfied with my life. LOL

I'm onboard Rick. Where do I sign up? 😊

Thanks for all your useful comments (and of course for adding the note). I will also try to convince everyone of the uselessness of Daylight Saving Time. For the ISO dates I first have to learn more about it :-). I am only familiar with DIN:ISO 9001 so far.
