I am designing a membership database which records members on a yearly basis  2022, 2023, 2024 etc.
I have the tables and forms designed. On the form, which records the variable data for each year, I have an Update Form button.
One of the critical criteria on the form is the membership year.
If changes are made to the information in the current year then the Update Form button does the job BUT if the yearly information is changed for a different (new) year I need to ensure that the Year field has been changed BEFORE the Update Form operation completes so that it recorded correctly in the table as a new  record.
What I need to achieve is way of making sure the correct year is recorded by displaying a message box when the Update Form button is pressed asking if the displayed membership year is the correct one for this update. Yes/No options need to be displayed in the message box so that only if YES is pressed does the update actually take place.
I hope I have explained this OK. Any suggestions for the best way to achieve this would be appreciated. Thanks. Bob Freeman.
