continu form SORT By

When you right click on a continuous form, a dropdown menu appears with two MENU SORT options and several MENU FILTER OPTIONS including a menu choice to clear the filter from that column.  However; I do not find an option to remove a sort - only to change the direction. Why is the option to clear the sort missing from the menu?  Is there an event that triggers when a sort is applied like the ON FILTER event when a filter is applied?

The drop down menu that displays when you right click on a continuous form gives you sort for A to Z and Z to A but no menu choice to remove the sort on that column.  You can also set various filters but you also have a choice to remove the filter.  I

You can make a button on the form to reset the sort to whatever you had by just setting it the sort to the autonumber field or whatever default you have set.

One that I found extremely useful is the Click to Sort video.
Richard shows how to sort by clicking on the Column (field) label. If I recall correctly he showed a method to clear the sort there as well.  If not there is enough info in the video to let you create your own "clear" button.

Also you could just remove a sort in the menu bar:

I see Remove Sort in the access menu but it does not show up the the popup menu when I Right Click on a row in the continuous form.  Is there a way to add Remove Sort to this popup menu so the user can remove the sort in the same menu where the sort is selected? (the same way Remove Filter shows up)

I'm not sure if there is a way to add commands to the Context menu. What you could do is add your own custom button to the Form's Header or Footer section to remove the Sorts. Here is the VBA:

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdRemoveAllSorts
