I suspect the problem is my laptop but I am suddenly not able to get page breaks to work in reports. Working through lesson Expert 6 lesson 2 I did this fine using Detail properties force break after section, but now it is not working. Have even tried inserting a page break from the control menu but still no page break. The letters all come on the same sheet not as separate letters. Just wondered if I might somehow have inadvertently set something somewhere that has caused this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated although I realise this is a bit beyond your normal remit (I also downloaded the sample database for Expert 6 and still have same problem on that version). FINALLY I figured it out. Not laptop problem but user error! I realised that I was not viewing the report in print preview mode. When I did so it was fine and displaying the letters separately. Learning curve! Onwards and upwards.
