I've just about killed the last of my brain cells trying to solve this riddle.

I've been following the "import, changed rec, update" video and for the most part it partially worked until I tested it by manipulating the data in the linked table.

Effectively I created a million similar queries (one for each separate field) to detect any difference in the imported data and my table and then used a Union query to combine them. I just copied and pasted the same one over and over and just changed the field data paths.

I created relationship between the different tables using UniqueCustomerID (Keyline), but didn't enforce integrity because we do not plan on making data changes on access itself, but through Kindful, where we store the raw data and then generate the report CSV file.

I compared the different join types in the queries to see whether that made a difference in my results, but for most part, with this step I stayed with the default choice.

For whatever reason my email field would not cooperate, I literally didn't do anything different query-wise. It wouldn't show all the different entries.

I started changing the data in the different data fields to test things within the Linked Table (ie if you get a client's missing email you update that field) or in general with data with inconsistent filled fields you get that data you can enter it in.

This is where my results were super spotty and inconsistent. Sometimes one query would identify all the differences, but if I filled out multiple missing information for the same customer on the Linked Table it was incapable of showing me all the changes. I went query by query, it seems ok if your changing existing data into a different thing, but all he.ll breaks loose if I dare to add data into a blank cell. Even worse when I tried to fill in multiple blank cells for the same record.

I've watched the inner join videos, the append etc, so I know how to add access ID to any brand new records, but I'm struggling with importing record changes into my already existing access data consistently across all my desired fields.

What is going on? What should I be doing differently?
