Stop Code on Another Form

Hello! I am creating an email application that sends out messages to lists of people. Someone could create a long recipient list, press send, and quickly realize they made a mistake. I want the user to be able to abort sending messages as soon as they want to do so.

I envision a small popup-style form with a progress bar that shows the email messages going out and a button to abort the process. I can't think of any code I could use behind the button that would end the execution of code in the underlying form (the one sending the messages).

How can a button on Form B stop the execution of a procedure humming along on Form A? Is it possible?

Hi Jennifer, Take a look at Rick's video Access Developer 18 Lessons and see how he make an Abort button. Maybe if it were in a loop? John

Yes, Form A has a loop to send each recipient a message. I placed code in that loop to look at a hidden text field on Form B to check if its value is "Go" or "Halt." (The abort button, when pressed, changes the value from "Go" to "Halt.") I had to let this percolate in my head for an hour or so, and the answer became clear. There may be a more elegant solution, but this works! Now I need to watch that video you mentioned because it discusses progress bars: my next task...
