Query Criteria
David Clement

Hello,
I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong with this DB that I am working on. It is only for my own use and not for my company.
The Original Designer of the DB created the Part Number Field with leading entry like this: 101A/  then the part number. the 101 indicates which store has the part, the a or what ever it may be indicated the brand of part.
So I made a query to try and filter out the leading information into different queries based the the  A or what ever.
But it's not working.
Please Help me to understand what I am doing wrong.

Create a calculated field and use the Left() function to get the correct data then add criteria to that field.

In the long run it may also be beneficial to save the prefix in its own field as well. This may prove useful as the foundation for a foreign key relating the part number table to a "department" table for future use.

Hi David, your criteria includes "(" and ")".  Your part numbers don't have parentheses, and that's why you get no result.  Remove the parentheses.  You also have a space after the closing parenthesis: ") ".  Remove that space too.
