Retrieve screen width height
Gary James

I'm at a loss to find a way to retrieve the users Access screen width and height in the same units as an access form.

I believe forms have their dimensions in Twips.  What I'm looking for is getting the SCREEN height and width in the same units used to measure a form.  I understand that different monitor sizes will result in different screen dimension measurements; but that's Ok.  I just need a consistent screen dimension measurement from the users monitor.

Is this what you are looking for (see screenshot)?

Yes, I think.   Where did you get the multiplier values to convert pixels to twips?   This is the first time I've seen these, and I spent a half day looking.

Gary where did you look?  I typed "what is a twip" into google and got an answer right away.

Wiktionary
    twip - noun

A unit of measure equal to one twentieth of a point.

Etymology: Abbreviation of twentieth of a point (referring to a printer's point).

Scott, now I'm confused.   You say the definition of a Twip is 1/20th of a point, but Kevin's example code uses a multiplier of 15?   Which is it?

I guess my search criteria was too specific.  I tried variations on 'MS Access retrieve display screen width and height in twips'

GetSystemMetric returns the value in Pixels not Points which is why I multiplied by 15.

Note that this multiplier will vary depending on screen resolution.

Ok, now we're getting to the meat of my question.   Instead of a constant, what I'm looking for is a formula to retrieve the screen width and height in twips, independent of display width in inches, and resolution; because these factors all interact with each other.

Here is what Microsoft says: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/vba/api/access.form.insidewidth

Scott, I'm not looking for the dimensions of a Form.  I'm looking to find the dimensions of the entire display screen.
