requery wo startin new record

I have a form (as below pic 1). When I press the Refresh button (it is actually requery button). The caption (numbner of receipt) on the button will automatically updated (pic 2 below). But sometimes it started a blank new record that I do NOT want.
Is there a way just to requery the button and stay on the same record?

i also tried (suggested by AI) :

Dim strFormName As String
strFormName = "Form1" ' change to your form name

Forms(strFormName).AllowAdditions = False
Forms(strFormName).Requery
Forms(strFormName).AllowAdditions = True

But still didnt work

You don't use Requery just to update a button's caption.  Requery is for refreshing the entire recordset.  Sometimes you don't need to do that, especially in a single form, where the user doesn't even see all the records.  Just update the button's caption with:

    MyButton.Caption = ...
