Open Report Button

I have a button on one of my reports to open a report to a specific record. Like the one in the Tech Help video. When I use it, it opens to the specific record and displays only that record on the record selector, but the details sub form shows all the details not just the one for that record. I had it working correctly at one point but had to make some changes on my form and cannot figure out why it will not work properly again. The changes didn't have anything to do with the button.

Is your sub form still linked properly? In other words, is it still a subform? If the link got broken, then you might be seeing more records in the subform than you should. John

When I view the Form with the sub form it works properly. Then when I use the button to open the Invoice report is shows all the order details not just the details for that specific order. I checked the fields, and they are still linked. The button code is written like this. DoCmd.OpenReport "InvoiceR", acPreview, , "MaterialSaleID=" & MaterialSaleID

When I look at the record selector at the bottom of the report it shows only one record as it should. I have also tried removing the sub form and replacing it with no luck.

I am a little stumped.

Hi Eric
just to be clear, are imbedding a SUBFORM in your main report or are you imbedding a SUBREPORT?
in any case make sure that in the "Data" property of your sub-report the like fields are set correctly. see image below.

It is a Form with a sub form. I have a button on the form that is supposed to open the Invoice report in print preview with only the details for that specific order, but it is bringing up the details for all orders. I checked the fields, and they are liked properly.

2) the link master field/link child field from the subreport that has too much data

It ended up being the child field in the sub report. Thank you for your help.
