Query with Wildcards
Mary Squires

I have two tables. One is in my database and the other is a linked SharePoint list. I want to create a query to show the records that have matching dates formatted yyyymmdd. The problem is the date field in the SharePoint list is not just a date, but a Batch ID in the format of TK1-PC9-yyyymmdd. I'm trying to use wildcards so that it will link the fields even though they're not an exact match, but I can't seem to figure it out. Thank you.

try this wild card
like "*" & [ID] & "*"
do a query and add this to criteria and see what results you get.
but as always back up your database incase it blows up.

Thank you!! So far it just keeps telling me to enter parameter values for everything I try to put in the brackets.

Try entering the field in the Parameters window with the appropriate data type.

I apologize for the delayed response! I took some time off for the holidays. Thank you all for your help! I was able to isolate the date portion of the field using string functions.
