Lock down subforms
Masih Ostad Novin

2 years ago
Hi.
I try to lock down my subform and it does not work properly:
I tried with

   Me.AllowEdits = False
   Me.AllowAdditions = True
   Me.AllowDeletions = False

on forms on current-

The end user should be able to add things. But it doesn't work. It's all locked.

Then I tried with Me.ProductType.Enabled=False on on current...
All this works with form on current but when I open subform to a new record the field is still greyed out.

I put the code Me.ProductType.Enabled=True
on on load but it does not work either.

Can you help? Thanks
Masih

"Me." refers to the main form, not the subform.

Please give more details and some screenshots."

This video shows the correct syntax for referring to a subform.

Value From Subform

The code is actually sitting on subform's on current event and AllowEdits = False and AllowDeletions = False are working. It's only the AllowAdditions = True that is not working.

If allow additions was false and you change it in code to true, you will have to requery the form before you'll see the blank new record.
