Convert a Form to a Report

Friend,

I have a form that is quite intricate. Is there a way to turn it into a report?

Thanks.

I have used a subform in both a main form and a main report. However, I found out that "on load" and "on open" events do not fire when it is a subform in a report.

So, I need to create exactly the same SubForm into a SubReport.

It was not too had. I copied each form section to its equivalent in an empty report. I added the record source and the link fields, and as Richard would say, "Boom." It is working.

Yeah, most of the same stuff will work from forms to reports. There are a few differences in the way the events fire, but it's not that difficult to figure out.

There is a template for you too to add to your portfolio: utilities, that will take a nicely formatted form and makes it into a report.

I would have paid a few bucks for utility like that

On my new database, that I am unveiling to the entire state on Wednesday, I was using subforms inside of my reports that worked fine until I ran into a problem where I couldn't control the visible property of the subform inside of the report. So, I started recreating the subreport from their forms counterparts.

Adam. You didn't! I am in the car so I can't see what you've done but I have no doubt it's going to be amazing. Can't wait till I get into work tomorrow and play with it. Thank you so much.

Alex,
When I try to access your database from the link you provided, I get the following error message.
The connection for this site is not secure.
filebin.net sent an invalid response.

Your solution for converting forms to reports would be very helpful to me. How can I get a copy? Many thanks.....

That link expired. Adam provided a new link here.

Thank you Adam.
