Referential Integrity

Hi Richard.

You say in many of your videos that referential integrity does NOT work on split DB.
But in one video you hinted it might work in some circumstances.

I just tested it as I do need it to clean my DB from test data before going live.
I have all my backend in one file as the number of records added each year will take the department thousands of years to reach the 2GB limit.

Cascade delete worked just fine!

I haven't really played with it that much, but did you do that from the front end file or the back end file out of curiosity?

I set up the referential integrity in the backend, but ran everything from the frontend.

This would probably make a good video for clarification but referential integrity will work within one access accdb file. So if you've got customers and contacts in one back-end file, you can set up referential integrity between them, and it will work fine. However, if customers and contacts are in separate files, then you can't have referential integrity between them.
