Hi, i have 2 date fields in my database. both are formatted as dd-mmm-yy. But only the first date shows in the correct format while the second date is in m/d/yy format.

The question is vague. Are these fields on the table? Are they in a form?

Hi Sami, yes i have 2 date fields in my table (DateStart and DateEnd). I created a form relating to this table. In the table, i have formatted both the fields as Date/Time and as dd-mmm-yy. On the form, when i enter data, the DateStart is exactly as i have formatted, but the DateEnd is not according to the format, it shows as m/d/yy.

Not the table format. The Form format for the dates on the form.

Hi Sami, I am very new and not very tech savvy. I don't understand what is the Format tab. Is the Format ribbon you want to see.

Yes. This is the correct image.
Do you see the problem?
Look at the Format property of both, you will see the problem.

DateEnd is missing the format.

Oh yes :)

Thank you very much.

But I still wonder why is it that it accepted DateStart and did not accept DateEnd. I did not use this Format Tab at all. All I did was in the Table Properties which shows down when you enter the fields.

However, Thank you again. I guess I will learn learn more of technical aspects here :)

You're welcome my brother.
It depends on how you selected the fields to go on your form.

The form will always inherit the formatting properties for fields at the moment that you create them, but if you go back and change the format in the table, the format will not carry through to the form unless you manually change it.
