Access 2010 subform
Greg Davis

Richard I appreciate your help. The subform which I described adds data to the table, which in this case is the name of the individual who logged in along with the date and time. Once a table is designed it can get all it's data from a form and that's what I want to happen in this case. As I had mentioned the main form comes from a two table query. I'm pulling some of the data from theses tables to use on this form for identification purposes; such as name, department, picture, etc.
So when a barcode is entered or a name is selected the appropriate data fills the form. With the Id of the main form linked to the Volunteer_Id of the subform the Correct name appears there along with the data and time of entry.
All of this works exactely as designed but for what ever readon the name and date/time are not saved to the table "Project_Participation" where it needs to be stored for later reports and safety concerns. I've tried writing code to get it to save but nothing works
I look forward to your reply.

Reply from Richard Rost:

It sounds to me like you're just using an unbound form, or some unbound controls which aren't saving their data anywhere... which is why you should use BOUND controls. Otherwise you have to write VBA code to manually insert the data into the table using either SQL code or something like a recordset which is MUCH more advanced.
