Parts Breakdown Where Used

Hi all,

New student and just getting back into working on my database I started about 20 years ago so just re-learning everything that I forgot.

I am running into one issue that is driving me crazy and i'm not smart enough to figure it out. For simplicity sake, these are the 3 tables that i'm working with

PartsTable (Main part number table)
-PartID
-Description

BOMHeaderTable (Stores assembly part number)
-BOMID
-PartID
-Description

BOMDetailTable (Stores individual part numbers in said assembly)
-BreakdownID
-PartID
-Description
-Qty

What i'm trying to do is add a subform to my current Main PartsID form that will show every assembly and description that that part is in. If a record isn't in an assembly it will simply be blank. Parts in my database can be in many assemblies. Would like this form to refresh for each record.

If you need anymore information please let me know.

Hi Kevin,

I do have lots of sub forms already in my database and some many to many relationships as my parts table is used frequently through many tables.

Just having issues with this specific idea

Richard did one like this in the invoice database.  He set up a computer and in the computer it had a hard dreive, RAM, and so on.  When you pick the computer it loaded all the sub paert in also.  this was some time ago so if anyone recalls it please do so.
I like to say developer 25
