Hello Sami,
When the customer has forgotten to send in the necessary accounting documents, I create a list in Excel. It is copied into an email that is sent to the customer.
Like this
Date                  Amount         Payd to
2024-05-01        1 000,00        Volvo AB
2024-05-03        2 500,00        Ikea AB
2024-05-05        3 000,00        HM

The Excel list is created by the accounting program. Would like to be able to copy the list into contact notes and then email it directly to the customer from Access

Regards
Ewa

You can't store an excel file in a notes field like that and keep the columns too. (Well you probably could with some very complex coding to read the result and manually enter spaces to "appear" like that, but that's way too much). The better solution would be to import the excel file into access, and work with it there. Then you could just make a subform instead of a notes field on your report to send.

Thanks for your reply, I suspected it wouldn't work.
Do you think it is possible to paste a picture?

Ewa

Paste a picture? Like of the excel information? If you could it would not be very easy.

I think you're making more work for yourself. Importing the data from the file into access is very easy. Then it's easy to do what you want with the data inside access and present it however you want.

Another easy solution would be to just attach the excel file to the email as an attachment.

Yes, think you are right that the easiest and best way is probably to attach the Excel file.

Thank you for the  reply

Why not create a TEXT file which contains a single concatenated line.  Take this text file and IMPORT it into Excel. You could use individual columns using LEFT, MID, RIGHT, etc) to recreate the correct column entries.

I created a program for OLCC. To test the program, I had to create a TEXT file (one customer entry per line in file), then open that file in excel and recreate all fields in the correct order. Below is a shortened line:

   Text line                  1st      2nd         3rd    4th
3224050419101009      32    240504    1910  1009

You can print your excel file to a *.pdf file.  You can display that in forms and reports.  You would store the file in a folder and store the path in the database.  If, however, you ever wanted the data in Access, Adams suggestion would be better.
