Counting Check Boxes
Tony

Is there a more efficient way to do this? If so, I am all ears...well eyes in this case!

Reply from Richard Rost:

Once you get up over a dozen or so checkboxes, you really should consider making them part of a second table with name/value pairs for fields. For example, let's say you've got students in a class and you're taking attendance. You wouldn't make one table for the class and then have each student as a separate field, with a checkbox indicating if that student was in class or not for a particular day. You would make a second table the students, so your data would look like this:

CLASS: Math101
- STUDENT: Mary, ABSENT
- STUDENT: John, PRESENT
- STUDENT: Sue, ABSENT

So in your case all of those 55 checkboxes should be in a separate table with a subform. You can check them off and then put a total for the whole group in the footer of your form/report.
