Splitting deposit or payments

I have a lot of payments that have multiple items making up a deposit or payment amount. Is there a way in access to be able to split one deposit or payment amount into multiple  accounts without having to input each as a line item

Yes. You'll make a "Split Payments" item and then you'll need a 2nd related table to track all of the separate transactions. It adds another level of complexity to your database.

One payment may cover multiple invoices, and multiple payments may apply to one invoice.  So the tables have to be designed accordingly to accommodate all that.

Thanks Richard what you said makes perfect sense I have already done this with other parts of database.  Way back when I used Access a lot with Version 2.0 when I was young. I went on to reach the skies.  Flew 767's then took care of mother with Alzheimer's.  The years went by, and things changed quite a bit to latest version as well as a long time not using I have forgotten much, but its coming back.  My problem now is overthinking, just need to get comfortable with differences since mid to late 1980's. The quick videos and tips when I have had problems make a great deal of difference.
