Automatic Save as

Is there a way to embed in your code the Save as Feature.  Instead of doing it manually it would be a great help during development to be able to do that.  Is there TechHelp video that does that?

What kind of Save As feature? Do you mean to save the database itself or an object inside the database?

Or are you talking about saving a record? Like making a copy of a record that has a lot of similar info?

No I would like to save the database with a revised name.  With a command button.

"Save As" requires you close everything, or it gives you an error (see picture below).  If everything is closed, you can't run any code.  Therefore, "Save As" cannot be run with VBA code.

If you want to backup your .accdb file with VBA code, there are other ways.  Richard may already have videos on it.  You may create another database with VBA code that copies and backs up other database files.

I'm guessing there isn't a macro that can be used?

You could launch a batch file, PowerShell script, or another database, do whatever you need, then relaunch the DB. That's what Access Updater does.
