parmeter box pops up

I have a continous form with 9 fields.  Each field has a filter box and a blank field.
I finually got it working however a parameter box pops up when I use the filter box or sort.  The field is "LastName" in box.  It also shows up in the status box.
No where in my code is "Lastname"  I realistically followed richard unit 16.  I have 9 fields that are different then Richard's.  Its a continuous form.  I changed the layout as to not copy Richards design.

I checked the property sheet for each field, filter box and my blank fields.  I have no idea where its getting this "LastName."
Now I did copy file 16 and change the field names etc and the code.

Anyone have any idea where I should look.  Its not in the code.

it is there in your Order BY.
you cannot sort with a Field you do not have in the record source.

I checked the property sheet for OrderByCombo and OrderByCombo and also sort toggle and sorttoggle2.  Nothing there.  Where in the property does this Orderby exist.

Thank you sami for responding.

If Access is asking you to enter "LastName" then you DO have it on your form. Check all your controls, both "Record Source" and "Name".

It is there. you just need to find it.  Also do a "Find" in your VBA code.

Nathan,

Look at where you screen captured your SELECT statement. 'ORDER BY LastName' is in that statement.

thank you for responding Kevin.  That order by statement up above created by the code.  What i am trying figure is where its getting "LastName"  I did a find on my code it does exist.  Now when do a search or a sort.  That parameter box comes another form.  Now both forms are in the same database.  I search that form code.  I could not locate "LastName"  I took richards code copied it.  Then added or changed the fields names.  basically I substitute richards code and applied my application to it.  I finually got it working.  After a whole nite of insomnia working on it.

Apparently when I copied Richards code in.  On the property sheet.  He put "lastName" as a default.  That where it was getting it from.  Issue has been solved.  This forum is now closed.  Thank you to those that responded.  You guys gave me clues where to look.  So thank you!!!!!!
