Querybased Checklist
Timothy Bariteau

How do I make a quick entry checklist that is based off of a query? I have a list of people that changes frequently. I need to make an attendance form which automatically updates the list of people, depending on if they are currently active members or not. I want to avoid having to manually make a new list of people every time one or two names change. But I also need my checklist form to be very quick and simple to use, for my coworkers' sake who need to fill it out every week. So, rather than using a dropdown combo box to choose names one at a time, I want a query of active members to automatically populate a checklist. The list needs to be short and easy to get through, not a LONG list of all current AND former members combined. Then we can simply check off each person in attendance. And of course, I need to be able to choose the class from a list, select the date, add the info to an attendance table, and then have the list cleared and ready for the next day.

Alex, thank you for replying! But, I'm still stuck. I've watched the "Checklists" video a few times (both the main one and the extended cut) to build some other checklists for my database. However, for what I'm doing now, I don't see the info mentioned in "Checklists". (Did I miss it?) The problem I'm having is I want to make a checklist from a QUERY, rather than manually typing in new items every few days.

To be more specific, this is for an attendance checklist, like a class roster. So my "items" are actually a list of people from another table (ResidentT), because I need to use their IDs to collect the data. But, I don't want the attendance checklist to include EVERYBODY in ResidentT, just certain ones, which is why I am hoping I can use a query (CurrentResidentQ) to auto-populate my checklist, so it updates itself whenever the names in ResidentT change.

I realize Expert Level 15 covers student attendance stuff, and I plan to watch them! But I'm still brand new here and have quite a few levels to go before I get there. Yet my boss is wanting me to build this attendance checklist form ASAP! So, I hoped someone has a tip or trick to help me use my query to fill in my checklist, until I'm able to view Expert 15 myself.

Thank you for any advice or help you can suggest!
