Built in AccessContact List

Hello Richard,
I am hoping you can help me with this.

I have been looking at the Contact Template that is inside Access. I like some it's features and don't like other features. I like the click map featue and I like the for the lack of a correct term, the title or name bar at the top of the Details form. I would really like to build my own similar to that one, but I don't really understand how it was built. I have just copied the title bar formula and it sort of works, but I dont' knoe how it was programmed. I know it is a split form, but when I try to build a split form, it looks nothing like the template version.

I would guess that you have not much use for that type of database anyway.
Just curious how it was done.

Thank you as always.

Split form has your table on the top and your form on the bottom.

That is just a form header. If you right click you can click form header/footer to turn it on.

In the case of your first picture, it just has the setting for split form to be on the bottom and the form on the top. If you go the form properties you can see under the format tab a number of Split Form properties like size, orientation, etc.

Hello, Richard and helpers.
I know you are all busy with other Access issues. I am still wondering how they built the Contact List Database inside Access. I want to build one similar to that one, with some of the same features, and not include other features. I cant get my Split
form to look like the one that comes with Access.
I have a sneaking feeling that Richard wouldn't build one like that for himself, just a guess.
Anyway, I can't thank you enough for all your videos and help.

Yea we don't usually make split forms, Richard teaches to stay out of the tables for data entry/manipulation, and split form basically puts your table there. Those settings I told you would let you change a split form setup though, just play with them and see what they do, and to make it how you like. Kevin told you how to make the header in your last post
