Looking to update/edit a personnel record that has info open in 2 separate forms.  All data comes from 1 table. First form is a continuous form "StudentSearchF", built off of Search Form 2.0.  I can search personnel by last name, first name, classroom, etc...once I find that person, I created a button at the bottom of the form that opens "StudentDetailsF" form. This form contains their whole record. I included the "Edit/Save/Cancel" function on StudentDetailsF using VBA to make sure nothing can be changed unless it's intended.

But when I go to edit, or add information on StudentDetailsF, it won't allow me to enter anything.  However, if I close "StudentSearchF", and just open StudentDetailsF, i can make edits.

The only thing I can think of, is it won't let me make any edits to a record that populates 2 open forms at the same time.  Wondering if there is a way around this?
