DCount or Count

Hi

I am writing yet another database, this time for Sales to create deal sheets. The first form after login is a "Status" page where i have headings that have counts of each status of where a deal is. I have tried using DCount in the control source of each text box aswell as using a query for each count and then putting it all the queries into one and assigning the main query to the form then selecting the relavant query in each control source. Both instances causes the page to load for a really long time.

Is there a way to have a status page with the data up to date and the page loads quickly?

Thanks

Tyrone
is the data (Status) all coming from the same table?

Yes, but they are all boolean/bit. It also is a SQL backend.

In that case, all you need is one query or a maximum of 2 queries to get these numbers. Use either [IIF Function](/1580) or, if you know VBA, [Recordsets](/2983) to build your numbers.

Share an image of your data structure.

This can be done with a crosstab Query Crosstab

Group on The information you want to see numbers for, for example SalesExceutive or SellingDepot rtc.

Then select "Count" where value is "True" for the all the "bit" fields you want: Incomplete, ManagerSignOff etc.

this you can display this query in a sub form in the location you want.
