Access Course

Good afternoon. I completed the Access Beginner Course and would like to continue as I have a project to complete. I have previously made databases with menus etc, so Beginner was a good review as I am rusted. AT the moment I do not have the funds to buy the complete Expert Course. My project is related to a Alternative Health report I made on Excel with Pivot tables, many calculations, conditions etc and I thought that it would be a great idea to convert to an excel database as there are many Health COnsultants in our group that would like to use my report. It would be easier for everyone. So my questions is if the Expert etc will help me to figure out what I want as it is not related to the Database you are using in the courses although I used your examples to do the basic contact details, forms and reports etc. I am a little bit pressed for time. I thought of subscribing. THank you for your excellent and professional classes. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginners. THank you. Lizelle.

Hi Lizelle
Build on your skill level anyway you can. It is not a particular database that is important, it is the concepts and underlying skills that are important. Try stuff, listen, read before you jump into a big project. As Rick says try his examples (I recommend multiple times) and really internalize the concept and skills. You may also ask via the Forum.
Enjoy

Hi Lizelle, you eat a cookie one bite at a time.  Think of what you are doing, then what is it you need to do next...I have a secret for you Richard has a free video that will show you how to do that next thing.  If you cant find it ask us we can point you in the right direction and even provide some guidence.  Think of the courses as building blocks and the free videos are little blocks.

I can tell you first hand that going with 9.99 membership.  Is well worth it.  You get one Expert class free every month.  Having Computer learning zone is a source of coding, templates and seminar is well worth the money.  Many of my questions were answered after taking the search seminar. The extended tech help is information on steroids. In the last week I have made serious stride in getting my application finished.  Now I can't tell you everything about the membership.  You need to confirm What I told you about the membership with Richard.  My viewpoint is what I understand is the membership.  I wish you the best!!!!

I use office 365 with windows 10 and realised today that they took Pivot tables off of Access?
Will it be possible to create the queries that will do the same as pivot tables in Excel.

I have a report in excel with a few pivot tables that I wanted to do in access but now I am not sure if it will work or not.

THank you

Lizelle

You can still use a CROSSTAB Query.
