You could just make a pause button when you are done in a database and going to a new one to set the Timer interval to 0. So the timer events stop but you don't have to close the database. If you want it to automatically detect which Access window is open though and do things like ignore popups or stop the timer events automatically, that sounds like Windows API if it's even possible.

Or a shared table that you can pass info with.

I use multiple databases at a time too with timer events and they don't conflict with each other at all. What version are you using?
