Chart months not in order

I have created an aggregate query, sorting by month and adding the number of adults and children seen each month. When I run the query it is in Month order. When I create the chart the months are in alphabetical order. How can I correct this?

Double click on your Chart to open the Property Sheet for the Chart. Click on the Data tab then select the value being displayed in the Chart Values property. The chart should now be sorted by the sorted field in your Query.

I had a similar problem with any earlier report and chart, but the solution that Kevin suggested last time doesn't work. I have a query which places the months in the correct order. I made a report which is also in the correct month order. I then placed a chart using the same data in the footer but now the months are in alphabetical order and I can't see a way to change it. Any suggestions please?
