Barcode Errors
Warren Powell

Using Symbol LI4278 wireless scanner with Access 365 to enter inventory part numbers.
Getting inconsistent readings. Will read correctly first time and then as I scan additional items with same label, I get significant errors.
Have tried two different scanners with same result. Is there some kind of calibration necessary to match it to the Access database?

I don't know how you are generating your barcode, but a method that I have used in the past that works is use the primary key value for the barcode and then use a Barcode font to generate the bar code.  Is the barcode being generated by the primary key?  If you scan it a 2nd time where is the value entered?  it may be preventing a duplicate value.

Does it scan into Notepad with no errors?
It's just an external keyboard

You may have a suffix set in your scanner.  If everything looks good in notepad, you might go to a site with a text to ascii converter and scan something in and see what ascii codes show up.  I just checked mine with here:

https://codebeautify.org/text-to-ascii

It turns out mine has a down arrow as a suffix.

I like to use View non-printable unicode characters https://www.soscisurvey.de/tools/view-chars.php

Nice.  That beats manually translating each character.  Thanks.
