Adding from form to form
Masih Ostad Novin

Hi.
I have 2 forms. I want to update "Volume" in the first form and "Volume" in the second form to be updated automatically. I used the code in the Add button but then I get a new row with new Volume. I don't want that. I want only the Volume of existing row to be updated.
Any idea? Thanks.

You need an UPDATE statement, not an INSERT INTO statement.

Masih,

The easiest way to get the SQL for the update you want is to create an update query to exactly what you want. Then switch the query to SQL view.

I learned that from Richard.

I second what Sami said.  Especially if your SQL is your weakest link.  Then you have an idea of the structure.

In standard old SQL the statement can look like:

UPDATE Customers
SET ContactName = 'Alfred Schmidt', City= 'Frankfurt'
WHERE CustomerID = 1;

Multiple Records

UPDATE Customers
SET ContactName='Juan'
WHERE Country='Mexico';

But I'd do the Richard recomendation .... cause Sami said so.
