Year set to current year

I have an input mask of 00/00/0000;0;_ for the date of an order. Is there a way to automatically make the year to the current year, or bring up an error message if the current year is not correctly added.  I am finding that people accidentally make mistakes with the year which then messes up the reports based on the date that has been added.

Teach your users to just enter mm/dd. Access will fill in the current year.
Alternatively, make DATE() the default value so it will always default to today's date.

Hi Sami. Thanks for your suggestions. Due to the input mask, it wants a year - doesn't automatically fill. Using Date() is not an option because often the data is entered at a later stage - not on the go.

Why are using a mask in the first place?
use "Format" for the date style you want, I like to use "Short Date".
a mask will restrict you.

Richard should add Date Mask to his Evel Access Stuff, in my opinion.

I like to store Short Date in my Tables.
I will usually display Short Data or a uniform format on a Continuous Form so they line up nicely.
On a Single Form it depends what look I'm going for and often use the format: ddd, d mmmm yyyy

For times I store the Seconds in the table, but 9 times out of 10 I don't need to see them on my Forms.

I have never used an Input Mask for a date or a Time.

Use Validation Rules to remind users to enter the right year.  They can't even leave the textbox if they enter the wrong year.

Year(Date()) works for me
