Apply columns to single field

I see how columns apply to an entire detail section in an Access 365 report, but can columns apply to a single FIELD in the detail section? Thus, for each record in the report, several fields could appear in a single row across the top of the width of the detail section, but the diary field below could spill into two columns (to use the space more efficiently)? Thank you.

Can you share a picture of what you're wanting, I can't picture it.

I came up with this using a Grouping Level but the Field(s) can only be the width of the first column. It won't span the entire width of the page. In the Properties for the Group Header I set the property New Row Or Col to Before & After.

Like this, except the "Description" field in the detail section could grow as two columns. Thank you

The field is set to "can grow", and it does.  Can Access set it to grow in two "newspaper" type columns? Thank you.

I wondered if there was some way to set up TWO detail sections for each record, one with the horizontal row of fields across the top, and the other just below for the "Description" field and set to columns.
