I have a table employees in my database. I want to be able to track their duties in the following way:

the duties are: talking to a client, writing invoices, storing data etc. Each of this duties the employee can make on his on or under a supervision. I want to be able to make a querry and a report that says for instance:

Employee John Smith is able to:
1. talk to a client on his own
2. write an invoice under supervision
3. enter data on his own etc.

I am thinking of creating a table dutiesT with fields: DutyID, DutyName, Category (here goes: on his/her own and undersupervision) and Date (when the employee bacame in charge for a specific duty.)How do I structure my table, what do I use on my form (option boxes or something else?)

Am I going the right way?

Sounds like you're on the right track. You could set up a subform to show all of the duties per employee and even go the other way to show the employees with a certain duty. (Like my products/vendors example).
