Query Help Needed

Guys, I have done this before but just can't seem to remember how I did it. I created a query that feeds a report that displays all the donors who have contributed to date in this current year. The problem I am having is that if the donor contributed 10 times, his/her name appears 10 times in the query. I added the Word DISTINCT immediately following the word SELECT in the SQL View, but it's still doing the same thing. How can I correct this issue?

Is it ' Group By ' you are looking for ?

Thank you so much for your assistance Mr. Swan but unfortunately adding the Group By to the query did not resolve my problem. Here is what I have in my Query. I added both my PartnerT and my DonationT tables as the source with a right join from the PartnerT to the DonationT table.

I dragged the PartnerID, FirstName, LastName and all related Address field from the PartnerT table and only the DonationDate field from the DonationT table. I then added the following custom field: DonationYear: DatePart("yyyy",[DonationDate])

The custom field is being used as a parameter field to prompt for user for the Donation Year. The Criteria for the field: [Enter Donation Year].

The goal of my query is to return the names and addresses of all my partners who donated in the year entered at the prompt. I works but the name of each Partner replicates itself for each donation they have given.

Thank you Bill and Kevin. The group did in fact work once I watched the Grouping & Sorting Video and even more watching the Extended-Cut. Thanks a million. Have a blessed evening.
