Sudden malfunctions

I have a form with an unbound listbox and a subform. Using techniques I learned here, I created a button to run an update query through a macro. A user selects an item in the listbox, clicks the button and the item appears in the subform. It's been working fine until today. Suddenly, when the button is clicked, the second selected item appears in the subform, but the any previous item selected goes "blank." When I look at the underlying table, the ID that controls what is shown is 0, rather than the updated number it should be. I can use the combobox in the subform and it works fine.

It's not happening consistently. It will work fine then suddenly it doesn't. I have run a Compact and Repair, I have closed the database completely, I have looked into my settings and properties and I simply cannot see what is causing this. I have not done any work on this part of the database in a while so I don't think it's happening because I changed something. I have a major work deadline and this is such a bad time for this to happen. Help!

Anytime you have a weird error that you can't explain and just randomly appears in your database, run down the troubleshooter. Sometimes little errors like this also creep in with new versions, so you may need to roll back to a previous version.
