I know the Payables Seminar is geared towards us being the company from which purchases are made. I am, however, thinking of developing a purchase order system, in which I am the one making purchases from other companies. My question is, what is the best way to track partial shipments? I am now marking the P.O. as closed when I receive an invoice, but sometimes there are things that are on back order, because they are out of stock at the moment. Should I just have a Yes/No field in the P.O. Detail table and check those off, or is there a better way? I am not too fond of so many Yes/No fields.

Since items can be received in different quantities, I'd recommend a "UnitsReceived" field. Say you're expecting 10 widgets and you only get 8, you could mark 8 in the UnitsReceived field, and then when all 10 are received, it could close the PO. I am planning on a more comprehensive Inventory seminar in the future... including barcode scanner use.
