Richard, I am puzzled by my new database assigment. I am trying to create a blood donor database for a collegue. I have a table DonorT with the information about the person (donorID, fname, lname, age, address, phone), blood typeID (in a separate table). If I want to enter a new donor that's fine but the problem is that I have another table DonationT in which the information about a certain donation event is stored. The issue is that the existing donor can make a donation but so can a new, unlisted donor. How can I add new donor on a fly and also be able to pick an existing if he/she makes a new donation?
At the end the Donation table looks like an excel spreadsheet and contains the existing but also new donors and I must copy them manualy to my DonorT table. Is there a way to remedy this?

Tnx

Neven

Reply from Richard Rost:

I would set up a DonorF form with the donor's information, and then have a DonationF subform for each donation event. If somoene new comes in, just quickly create a Donor record for them OR have a single "unlisted donor" record. I used to do that for my business. I had a "customer" called CASH. This way if someone came in off the street and wanted to buy  something small with cash, I could just pick that customer without having to get their name, address, etc.
