I found a way to do this without using VBA. I found that I can use Conditional Formatting to do this. Just select the default color you want for the selection "When There is No Condition" and in the combobox below, select the GotFocus and the color you want for that.
It is not the exact solution I was looking for, but it works and I don't have to have the same piece of code repeated in so many places.
If you ever stumble across the VBA code to do this, please post it for me.
