Access Calander Control

In our Church Access Database, we record Birthday and Anniversary dates as "Month" and "Day", excluding the year of birth/anniversaries. We have the Year as an Option. In our birthday and anniversary Reports, we only list Month and Date. Do you have a template for this, or a suggestion how to do this

Hi Greg

I am missing something here! does this database already exist, and you have set already set up? If so, you seem to be doing what you need to do. Please clarify.

Sami: I have a working database setup; however, I am in the process of building a new database incorporating functionality I have been learning from your courses.  I am looking at a calendar drop-down for month and day (Combo box?), a field for an optional year (if data is available). If the year is known and the entered, it would be nice if the age (for birthdays) or the number years of marriage for anniversary would be calculated. Hope this helps, Thanks, Greg

Create Three Tables
DayT
MonthT
YearT

On your form create Three combo boxes for each table. Bind each combo box to the Field in your main table.

To turn these 3 fields in to a proper date format (if year exists) use the techniques shown in:

I wouldn't over complicate it
Have a Date field, use the inbuilt picker
Then you can format it however you want

Easier to work with a valid date and hide stuff than trying to build it up from other parts, as you'd need to put in your own validation like not picking 30th Feb.
