Form Problem

Hi Richard,

I have a table with the following fields and is called StageDateT

IDAutonumberPrimary Index
StageTypeShortTextCan be 'S', "U' or 'C' for Stage, Unit or Credit
UnitIDNumber
ApprenticeYearNumber
LocationShortText
CourseCodeNumber
StageCodeNumber
GroupCodeNumber
StageDateDate
StageDayNumber

A stage can have 1,2 or 3 units in it.
When a student transfer from another institution they may have a number of credits.
These credits maybe for all units in a stage or only some of the units.

Where a student has to complete 1 or maybe 2 units of a stage I want to create a new StageDateT record
using the existing class as a template for this new record via a combobox and only have
the user key the unitID which is also a combobox lookup and whether the unit is a credit for the student or a unit which the
student needs to complete.

I have tried 4 different versions and I either get Error 3078 or MS Access is writing the record before it should or jumping to the next new record without writing
out the previous record with the the correct details.

I use a query based on StageDateT for the ComboBox template record and the form uses the StageDateT table as it's control source.
Can I use the same table in the same form as a basis for a ComboBox lookup to populate the new record or do I have to create a temporary table for the ComboBox?

I need to create these 1 off records as the student gets a report for all his class attendances which can be over a 3 year period and it is also used in your
Calendar system (modified) to detail when what student is attendiing when and where the student has a unit I want that unit/s to appear in the Calendar.

Regards

Just seeing the table structure doesn't help much. How about some pics of your forms and some sample data? That will help me to envision it more clearly.
