Help Problems with New Database
Edward R

I just created a new database that I learned everything from your site.I brought it in to work and placed it on a local hard drive in hopes that a few select people could utilze it.I password protected because I really didnt want anyone else to mess it up.Now it works find on my desktop whichs has Access 2010 and fine from home which has 2007.The thing is nobody else can open it.Comes up with error message that the file is corrupt and unreconized format. Most of the computers at work kave 2007.Also I put a backup on the flash drive and tryed to open it from there from some of the other desktops with no luck but mine and for some reason one of my co-workers across the hall could also open it from  the flash drive also with the password prompt. Please I am at loss here.Any help would be greatly apprecited

Reply from Richard Rost:

There are a lot of things you can try. Without seeing the database it's hard to tell what the problem is. First, it could just be a corrupt file. Try copying it again. Next try copying the database LOCALLY to the C: drive of their computers and see if it opens there. It could be a network problem. Also make sure the ACCDB file isn't READ ONLY. That sometimes happens. Try performing a COMPACT/REPAIR on it. Try making a BLANK Access 2007 database on their computers and IMPORTING all of your 2010 objects (tables, forms, etc.).
