Linked Tables in Split Database
Daniel Golden

I have watched this video three times before I even attempted to follow along with my database. My concern is that I have already split my database and when I created the archive database, the table is still linked to my main database. If I go into the linked table manager and unlink the table in the archive database, will it also do so in my main database?

In the Linked table Manager, you can choose tables individually.

I don't want to unlink the table from the main database... I just want to be able to only add data from the tables in the main database to the corresponding table in the archive database. I will include a picture of the Linked Table Manager from the archive database for reference.

Sorry Daniel, I not getting what you are saying.

Also is "Unit/Center Reviews" your table name?!

Look at the image I sent you, this is my front end. It links to three different back ends.

Your backend should not be linked to anything.

you need only your front end to link to your standard backend and to the archive backend.

Yes, I have spaces in all of my tables created prior to discovering the knowledge base here... Basically what I am trying to make sure of is that if I delete the link of the table in my archive database that it doesn't also delete the link in the master database...

Should I first delete the ACCDE file I have and create the archive database from the main database then go back and make a new ACCDE file?

I am going to request that any new comments on this thread be directed to the Access Developer Forum as I am about to post a new thread there.

@ Daniel, since there are so many videos in Richard's site, could you provide the full title of it so we can watch it too, before answering.

@Thomas... Not sure how my post ended up here. It was supposed to be it's own post in the developer forum... anyways. The video I have watched is the Archive Records Tech Help video.

@Daniel, I didn't see it in TerryA thread, it was it's own. I'm guessing it was a site hicup after you posted.
