Welcome to another video quiz from Access Learning Zone. This one's for developer users.

You've got five questions covering Access Forms and VBA. You'll have three seconds to answer each one, so hit that pause button if you need more time. Keep track of your score so you can see how you did at the end.

Ready to claim the ancient mine machine? Here we go.

Question one: Which Access option makes the Code Builder the default choice when you create an event procedure?

Compile on Demand, Require Variable Declaration, Always Use Event Procedures, or Show Hidden Objects.

That's going to be C, Always Use Event Procedures. You'll find it in the Options.

Question two: Which data mode argument opens a form directly at a new blank record with DoCmd.OpenForm?

Is that acFormEdit, acFormReadOnly, acFormAdd, or acFormDS?

That is acFormAdd.

Question three: Which event should contain VBA that runs after a user changes a text box value and commits that change?

Enter, Update, On Click, On Current, or On Open.

That's going to be After Update.

Question four: For a Yes/No control named Ship Same as Billing, which VBA condition correctly tests whether it is checked?

A. If Ship Same as Billing Then

B. If Ship Same as Billing = "Yes" Then

C. If Ship Same as Billing Is Text Then

Or D. If CheckBox(Ship Same as Billing) Then

Which one?

That's going to be A, If Ship Same as Billing Then. You don't need the = True, although it doesn't hurt if you put it there.

And question five: A form copies billing fields into shipping fields only when Ship Same as Billing is checked. If the user unchecks it and later changes the billing city, what should the Billing City After Update code do?

A. Clear the shipping city automatically.

B. Leave the shipping city unchanged.

C. Copy the billing city anyway, then uncheck the box again.

Or D. Save the record and close the form.

That's going to be B, leave the shipping city unchanged.

All right, how'd you do? Did you get all five? Did you claim the Forbidden Planet's ancient mine machine? Or did you press the big glowing button because it looked friendly?

Well, if you missed any, these topics and more are all covered in Access Developer Level One, Lesson Six, all about the After Update event.

Thanks for playing. Post your score down in the comments, and let us know whether you calmed the machine or accidentally unleashed the invisible monster.

And until next time, live long and prosper.
