I'm currently working on a new Microsoft Access Seminar that covers everything you ever wanted to know about working with images (pictures, graphics, etc.) in your Access databases. Some of the topics include:
- Storing images in your tables (pros and cons)
- Why GIFs and JPGs blow up the size of your database
- Linking to external images as OLE objects
- Storing only the path to an image but still displaying it
- Browsing and picking an image from your drives
- Displaying an image from a Web site in your forms/reports
- Launching MSPAINT to edit an image even if its not stored in your table
- Storing ONE copy of an image in a table (like a company logo) and using it on multiple forms/reports
I'm recording this seminar starting today. If you can think of ANYTHING ELSE that should be in this seminar, please let me know so I can add it. It will probably take me a day or two to record and edit it, so post your thoughts here.
