It all depends on what you want to use it for. If they have SQL Server, then you can keep your data in that. Then it's just a matter of finding a good front end. Nothing compares to Access as far as building a good desktop front end. But you could use something like Power Apps to make basic connectors to your database, and those will work on your mobile devices, your web browser, and whatever else you want.

I've actually got it on my to-do list to do some simple Power Apps lessons to teach you how to connect to an SQL Server database. But in that case, you might still run into the same problem. If it's an app that you build yourself in Power Apps, are they going to still allow it? I mean, just like Access, it's a tool, so you can connect your data however you want to. Companies that have a problem with Access are just silly.
