Internal Messaging System in Access

In my database I want to use VBA to create a sort of private messaging system between my users. I went through the AI route with Microsoft Copilot and got some code which seemed to only work half-way. The main problem is that it would not alert a user when a new message was received. The only way they would know is if they close and open the form where messages display.

I was wondering if anything like that had been thought of by anyone in human form? Has anyone ever attempted this, and if so how?

You might check out Kevin's Message Center. You could try a me.refresh in a timer event for the message form to refresh the form periodically.

There was an On Timer event in the Main form set to 1000 milliseconds. It still wouldn't update the subforms. I'd be interested in adopting Kevin's Message Center into my database as it seems to be just exactly what I am looking for.

I was able to finally get my messaging to work in the database.
