The ID of a record is auto-generated, and meaningless to the user. Why do you display it on your forms? I know that it needs to be in the form's data for navigation and linking, but I was trained that one should never give access to data that will confuse the user or that the user cannot use.

Richard adds the ID to his Forms for training purposes only. He has mentioned in several videos that he doesn't put the ID on the Form in a production database.
I'd like new Access developers to get used to seeing that ID so that you recognize it and appreciate its value and what it does. But when it comes time to make your final database for your end-users, you don't want to confuse them with that number or end up with the German tank problem.
