The 9 Line Limit on Queries

Question on the part of this Quick Queries (Just love the aspect of these). When you were saying you would have to learn SQL to go more than 9 lines, I have used the "Insert Rows" on the toolbar. Is there maybe a reason that this might not be a good way to go?

You're absolutely right. The Insert Rows button is another valid way to add more criteria lines in the query design grid. I completely forgot to mention it in the video, mostly because it's just not something I personally use often.

Coming from the old-school days of Access 2.0 in the early 90s, I got used to writing SQL directly whenever queries started to get more complex. Back then, that button didn't even exist, so it's just a habit I've kept.

But yes, using Insert Rows is totally fine, and it works great for those who prefer staying in Design View. Just keep in mind that if you insert extra rows and leave them unused, Access will often remove them when you close and reopen the query. Still, it's a handy feature. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm not a fan of the Visual Query when you start having a lot of OR conditions.  It looks messy (to me). SQL still scares me but I'd rather use it when it gets to 5 more extra lines... that is just me however.
